About Our Next Meeting . . .

Date: Tuesday, January 5, 2009, 7:00 PM at The Yard Restaurant, Manchester, NH

Featured guest: Deb Titus, Managing Director -Dale Carnegie, NH

Topic: " Interviewing Not “Spewing”: Communicating Competence!"

More about the evening: When people are being interviewed, they often default to “spewing” a list of everything they've accomplished and shut the interviewer down. The candidate may even have a distorted view of what is important ... because they communicate in terms of themselves rather than in terms of the needs of the hiring employer. The candidate needs to be an interpreter of their past and translate in terms of future value, in the context of that employer's reality. Let's face it, if you're looking for work, you need to stand out from the crowd and this presentation will give you some insights on how to do that! Attend this workshop and pick up tips on the following: 1. How you show up and what prospective employers say about you behind your back. 2. Your thought factory and how that influences interview behaviors that boost or steal from your message. 3. Translate past accomplishments into future application for employer 4. Strategies on preparing your talking points. Bring a notebook; you'll get some insights that you can apply immediately.
